Co-published on the occasion of the homonymous exhibition at the MAC/CCB, Interespecies brings together artefacts—architectural projects, literary texts, technological devices, replicas of natural phenomena, building materials, products, works of art or design, models or prototypes—that reflect on humanity’s interdependence with other places, species, materials and forms of intelligence. From this starting point, it explores the role of architecture in the transition to a posthuman paradigm and, in turn, questions what posthumanism can tell us about the architecture we create. Thus, it follows a self-critical path of questioning already trodden by feminist and decolonial projects that propose a new starting point in which architecture operates as a mediator of coexistences that articulate relationships between people, species and territories.
